Bethany Lions Installation and Awards Ceremony


The Bethany Lions club held their annual installation of officers on Saturday, October 3rd at Bethany Veteran’s Park Picnic Pavilion.  23A CT District Governor Allen Sturtz, Ed.D.  installed the officers and Bethany Lions Immediate Past President Carol Goldberg handed out club member awards and recognitions.  Installed as officers for the 2020-2021 year were:

Drive In

The Bethany Lions Club wants to thank everyone who came out to the drive-in movie last night – It was a great time! We’re going to start planning the 2021 season and will be posting in the next several weeks a survey asking movie choices so we can come back to you in early 2021 to choose the 2021 drive-in movie lineup – with food trucks!  ��In the meantime, attached our ad slideshow as another “Thank You” to our ad sponsors for last night as well as our upcoming events!

Shredding event Saturday April 24th

Please note that we will be respecting social distancing. A Lion or Boy Scout will take your shredding material from your car and put it in the Shredder.

Due to Covid and in an effort to protect you and our Lions and Boy Scout volunteers there are a few rules that we need to implement.


Stay in your car
Wear a mask
Place shredding material in your trunk beforehand if possible
There will be an area to pull over out of the traffic lane if you need to exit car to deposit shredding material or witness the shredding of confidential documents.
Respect Social Distancing
Drive One Way – Exit around building

We are accepting free will donations. Our costs have increased, so please be as generous as you able to be.

CONFIRMATION! THE SHOW IS ON FOR TONIGHT! Received confirmation from our vendor that tonight is on as scheduled. In addition to what is listed below, a few timely notices:

  • Gates open at 7:30 pm
  • Cash only – $10
  • Gate will close when spaces are filled
  • Donations graciously accepted
  • Limited space for large vehicles and will be placed in the rear viewing area
  • Can’t pick your own space – You will be directed 
  • Make sure to get your Bethany Lions Shopping Bag as a gift from us to you!

Donations accepted!Other important information:· No walk-ins· Face masks/social distancing guidelines must be followed· Bring your own beverages and snacks, but please take your trash with you – there will be no trash bins· You are welcome to enjoy the show in your car or bring lawn chairs and sit in front of your car to watch the movie· Sound will be on FM radio. Check the movie screen for the frequency.· Cannot leave the parking area until the movie is over for the safety of everyone· Port-a-potties are located on either side of the parking area including one handicap accessible


Drive-In at Bethany Airport

The results are in for the movie to show for the Bethany Lions Drive-In Movie Night – Saturday, August 15th! The winning movie is…BACK TO THE FUTURE that gleaned 33.3% of the community submitted votes! Below is a graphic representation of the results and a flyer. About the Event: At just $10 per car (250 cars maximum) parking fee it’s a great night of entertainment! No walk-ins allowed. Gate opens at 7:30 pm and the movie starts at 8:30 pm with a short cartoon for the kiddies first. Enjoy an outdoor PG rated movie on a 40′ screen with FM audio reception in your car! Bring a picnic basket and parking will be spaced for social distancing. You can put your chairs in front of your vehicle to enjoy the movie. If the weather does become an issue, the vendor in consultation with the Bethany Lions Club will made the decision by 2 pm on the day of the event. We will communicate this decision via various Facebook sites, our website and Facebook page.

The drive-in movie night will be cash at the gate – $10 parking fee per car until sold out. Maximum 250 car capacity.
